  3. Check them time to time. When done drizzle the mustard oil on top of it and mix well.
  4. Healthy and tasty gota sedhdho is ready. Have it as it is or with steamed rice.

Each home in Bengal has its own little touch to 'Gota Seddho'. I closely followed my Maa-Thakuma's recipe, as narrated by my Maa. To finish off I heated up mustard oil, tempered it with few dry red chillis and added that oil to finished 'Gota Seddho'. T he day after Saraswati Puja it is customary for Bengalis to eat a special dish called Gota Sheddho (literally translates to "whole boiled"). It is so called because none of the vegetables are cut, instead each one is boiled whole with a wholegrain dal.
