  1. Take 800 gm Chicken breast
  2. Make ready 1 cup mixed lentils (bengal gram,split yellow,red and pigeon pea lentils)

  5. Take 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  6. Get 2-3 Green chillies chopped

  8. Get 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  9. Take 1 tsp blackpepper powder
  10. Take 1 cup curd
  11. Get 5 peppercorns,2 cinnamon sticks,4 cloves
  12. Take 1 tsp caraway seeds
  13. Make ready 1/4 tsp cubeb powder
  14. Take 1/4 cup chopped mint leaves
  15. Make ready 1/4 cup coriander leaves
  16. Prepare 1 tbsp salt
  17. Prepare 1/4 cup ghee
  18. Take 1/4 cup oil
  19. Take 1/4 cup cashewnut paste

Arabic Chicken Harees is a Ramadan special dish usually made with meat or chicken and boiled wheat and barley. Your Healthy Arabic Chicken Harees is ready to serve. Garnish it with Barista (fried onions), fresh coriander leaves and a tablespoon of olive oil or ghee. The dish is derived from the Arabian dish Harees which means mash and is prepared with Meat and Lentil.

Instructions to make Oats and Chicken Harees/ Daleem:
  1. In a cooking pot, heat ghee and oil together. Saute ginger garlic paste. Add the whole spices now. Saute all for a minute and then add the chicken cubes followed by the spices.
  2. Cover and let it cook on a low heat. Allow it to cool down a bit and then mash it well. Spices can be adjusted according to taste.
  3. Next add oats along with 5 -6 cups of water to another pot and let it cook on a low heat. Soak cashews for a few minutes and then make a smooth paste of it.
  4. Pressure cook mixed lentils with salt to taste,green chillies and turmeric. Once done add them to the simmering oats. Mix well and cook until oats are soft and mushy. Also add cashewnut paste to it. Will be done in 20-25 minutes.
  5. Now add cooked and mashed chicken to the oats and lentil mix. Stir until well combined. Add deep fried onions along with mint and coriander leaves. Reserve some of these for final garnishing.
  6. Adjust salt at this point. Sprinkle garam masala and cubeb powders. Mix well and cook for 5 more minutes.
  7. Serve hot garnished with fried onions and greens. Also don't forget to add a generous dollop of ghee on top.
